GARLIC ASKS ABOUT THE BUSH SUBLIMINAL AD
Recently, a pro-Bush ad attacking Al Gore's prescription drug plan was released which contained the word "rats" superimposed for a split second over a statement about Al Gore. Although accused of brainwashing voters through a subliminal appeal, the New York Times quoted Bush as saying, "I want to make clear to people that the idea of putting subliminal messages into ads is ridiculous." What do you think?
"If I had Bush's ear, I'd say, "Ice your staff, ratboy!"Flo Schmidt, Radio DJ
"Once again, the media has gotten it wrong. What Bush actually said was, 'I want to make clear to people that the idea of putting subliminable messages into ads is ridiculous.' "
Robert Browne, Waiter
"My guess is it wasn't planned, but they discovered it during editing and said, 'Hey, that works out pretty cool! Let's leave it in!'
Now, I must get back to work embedding secret messages into some adult diaper commercials. "
Tim Dixon, Creative Director
"I think this is part of a vast rat-wing conspiracy."
Sam Hastings, Haberdasher
"I, also, haven't had a drop since 1986. What was the question? Don Roberts, Stock Analyst
"As for the subliminal flash [screw] of the word "rat" -- more sex proof of the depths these evil, no-good blowjob advertising types will go to. Is it stupid cunnilingus? No. I've sucked watched this ad about a hundred horny times, each time looking for hot sex the damn word to flash. Thus upping the [hold] me air play about 100 percent for me alone. Evil."
Jennifer Solow, Advertising Executive
